I remember being asked to bring out my selection of swing house to open a set for a friend who primarily played REALLY deep techno tracks. He thought the variety would be fantastic for when he switched the room over to darker stuff afterward. I got up on stage and mixed the previous DJ out and the WHOLE dance floor STOPPED MOVING. 200% what you DO NOT want to see as a DJ. No one danced through my entire set. Not ONE person. Imagine yourself on the receiving end of blank, disappointed stares for an hour.
Regardless, I had a friggin' BLAST just hammering out swingin' tracks one after the next. Apparently I was the only one. lol.
